The cast and crew have had a few hair raising moments while filming inside the walls of the historic 147-year-old Joliet Correctional Center outside of Chicago. Some claim they feel a 'presence' around.
 
Dominic: "I had something touch me on the neck other day. I looked around and thought, 'It's weird,' blew it off and didn't think about it too much. Then in the afternoon, one of the actors came to me and said, 'Did you just touch me on the shoulder?' 'No.'Then I went back to my little thing and said, 'Hmmm,' and the crew was starting to talk about weird stuff that's going on. 
But the prison's known to have been haunted for a long time."
 
Many will not 'go off wondering' because it is just too intense and creepy... 
 
Dominic: "I'm always relieved to leave, always. You never want to hang out there by yourself. The corridors are so long, so far, and you get creeped out exploring. There's a section in the yard where they used to do the hangings, and you can see the old foundations of what they used to use."
  
There have been accounts about people hearing running water, but when they go in search of it, nothing can be found. No signs of water anywhere. There's a faucet that whenever they walk by it, it sounds as if it's running water but the sink hasn't been in use for years.

 
 
The ghost that haunts Monkey Hill....

 
The residents on the hill above the old prison in Joliet first heard the eerie voice singing when the full moon moved across the sky on the hot night of July 16, 1932.The voice was that of a ghost, they told each other. A ghost that haunted the prison's Monkey Hill Cemetery there on the hillside above the prison quarry. Dozens of old convicts had been buried in that cemetery during the 1800s.
